Tercer Pulso Trio: Jazz, Latin Rhythms, and Improvisation​​​

Led by acclaimed guitarist Pablo Miguez, with Aurelio Espinoza Zegarra on bass and Freddy Benitez on drums, Tercer Pulso Trio combines the vibrant energy of Latin rhythms with the freedom of jazz and improvisation. The trio creates a dynamic and genre-blending sound that captivates audiences, seamlessly integrating Afro-Peruvian, salsa, and cumbia influences with contemporary jazz. Known for their engaging live performances, they will spearhead the jam session, inviting musicians and listeners alike to join in the creative flow of music. 

At the Zurich Jam Session they performed with Didier Espinosa, a charismatic lead vocalist, hailing from Cali, Colombia. Didier studied Theatre Arts at the University of Valle and Industrial Engineering at the Cooperativa de Colombia University. With experience in renowned Colombian orchestras like Orquesta Oro Latino and Escencia Orquesta, Didier skilfully alternates between percussion and vocals. In addition to performing with Tercer Pulso Trio, he is a key member of Barrio Central, Zurich’s acclaimed salsa band, and the founder and director of Encántigo, a theatre collective active in Zurich.

Pablo Miguez is a versatile musician and composer, celebrated for his unique blend of genres and rich cultural influences. Born and raised in Argentina and now based in Switzerland, Pablo is skilled in both guitar and percussion. Since the age of 19, he has worked as a freelance musician, performing with various ensembles across cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Buenos Aires, London, Paris, and Zurich. From September 1997 to November 1999, Pablo performed nearly 200 concerts with Pippo Pollina, including an acclaimed five-concert tour in Italy featuring the renowned Charlie Mariano. He has since shared stages and collaborated on numerous projects with distinguished musicians such as Juan Munguia, Dudu Penz, Rodrigo Aravena, Alejandro Panetta, Roberto Pulido, Raylor Oliva, Jorge Enrique Rodríguez Pérez, Raoul de Souza, Cesar Correa, Gary Padmore, Carlos Irarragorri, and David Stauffacher. Originally from Peru and now based in Zurich, Aurelio is a talented bass player, guitarist, and singer. With a professional career that began at 18, he honed his craft at a jazz school in Toulouse, France. His musical style is a vibrant blend of Latin genres—such as Afro-Peruvian rhythms, salsa, and cumbia—with modern influences like pop, funk, hip-hop, reggae, and jazz.

 


 

Freddy Benitez

Drums

Born in Cali, Colombia, and raised in Esmeraldas, Ecuador, Freddy is a gifted rhythm artist with a unique musical journey. He began by playing improvised instruments before developing his talent through self-teaching and formal training. With a Bachelor’s in Jazz Instrumental Music and a Master’s in Music Education from Lucerne University, Freddy now teaches at the Music School of Zurich and shares his passion for Latin rhythms through workshops and live performances.
